Baker Mayfield Reacts To Buccaneers Win: "We've Known All Along What We Have In This Building"

Mayfield guided Tampa Bay to its second road win and a 3-1 overall start to the season after the victory against New Orleans.

The Buccaneers won big against the Saints on Sunday 26-9 to take control of the NFC South and win their first division game of the year.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield led the way for the Bucs with three passing touchdowns and one interception. He was extremely efficient on the day going 25/32 for 246 yards and 31 rushing yards, only getting sacked once.

Mayfield had a scary moment on his passing touchdown to Cade Otton, getting twisted and thrown to the grass. But he bounced back and returned to the game right away.

"Getting pinned down and then the late hit coming on top of that, luckily it wasn't worse than it was. Cade presented a good check-down in front of me and he was able to make a play after that."

Mayfield was working well with the offense today, even with star receiver Mike Evans exiting the game. He was able to create some exciting plays while targeting younger players like Trey Palmer and Deven Thompkins.

"Taking advantage of our one-on-ones, just trusting our guys. I think you saw that throughout the game. Unfortunate to lose Mike (Evans) during the game but our young guys are playing well."

The veteran quarterback did throw an interception deep in New Orleans territory in the second quarter, but the offense answered with a touchdown on their next drive.

"I would like to have that one throw back today but that's just a physical error. It was not anything mental it was just a bad throw, we can correct those"

The Buccaneers head into the bye with their offense and quarterback humming along with a 3-1 record. Mayfield is confident in the guys around him on both sides of the ball.

"With the early bye, it is gonna be a grind down the stretch for us. Momentum-wise, having a good division win against a very physical opponent, this couldn't have come at a better time for us."

"You can't change whether people are patting you on the back or talking trash about you. We've known all along what we have in this building."

Mayfield has tossed seven passing touchdowns with only two interceptions during his first four games with the Buccaneers.

Outside of the Eagles game last Monday night he has been very good in situational football and leading long drives.
