Lakers News: LeBron James Gives Warm Shoutout to WNBA at 2023 ESPY's
If there is one thing we know about LeBron James at this point in his NBA career, it's that he supports all levels of the basketball community and seeing that he has arguably carved out the greatest career of all time, it makes a lot of sense. He's made it clear that his legacy will be carried on by his kids and two of them (Bronny & Bryce) are already competing on a national level.
We recently saw The King awarded with a special honor at the 2023 ESPY's thanks to him breaking the NBA's all-time leading scoring record, previously held by former Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and he used his speech as the opportunity to address a number of topics in front of the sports world. The biggest one was obviously when he confirmed that he will not be retiring and that he still believes he has more in the tank ahead of a new season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, he also used his time at the mic to show love to WNBA superstar A'Ja Wilson and to the entire organization as a whole.
"I want to say congratulations to my sister A'Ja Wilson on winning a WNBA Best Player ESPY. And y'all make sure y'all get out there and support those beautiful women and what they do."

It does feel like the WNBA is getting more and more popular as the years go on and with all of the elite, young talent entering the league, it will only continue to grow. It's amazing to see someone like James show his support towards them and hopefully other star athletes do the same!
