Former UCLA Basketball Star Making Headlines as NBA Trade Season Gets Underway

This could shake up the league.

Arguably the best Bruin currently in the NBA, Zach LaVine, has started making headlines as a possible trade candidate across the NBA.

LaVine, currently a member of the Chicago Bulls, played for the Bruins in the 2013-2014 season, prior to being selected in the lottery of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 6-foot-5 former Dunk Contest champion has made a name for himself as a 3-level scorer, averaging a career high 27 points per game in the 2020-2021 season.

The Bulls, who have made either the play-in or the playoffs each of the past two seasons, have looked bad to start the season, igniting rumors of a potential fire sale.

Those rumors have since been confirmed, and the Lakers, among other teams, are on the shortlist for teams that Chicago should field offers from.

He has the potential to be an instant contributor anywhere, and given how great of a player he is, monitoring his landing spot will be key, as he could swing a team's season, pushing them from a middling playoff team to potential title favorites.
