Interesting in Sunderland star Jack Clarke is ramping up once again, with the January transfer window quickly coming around.

It feels like the summer transfer window has only just closed. But in little over two months, the winter window will be open.

And ahead of that, Premier League interest in Sunderland star man Clarke is ramping up with recent reports claiming that Brentford are now taking an interest.

Alan Nixon says that the Bees are weighing up a potential £15million bid, after Burnley tried and failed with s maximum bid of £10million for Clarke in the summer.

So it begs the question; how much should Sunderland charge for Clarke?

How much for Jack Clarke?

Nixon's report suggests that Sunderland will cash in should a suitable offer come in, and so it certainly seems like the Black Cats have a price.

Expect that price to remain unknown, though, and expect it to be much higher than the £10million that Burnley saw rejected in the summer.

Given Clarke's impressive start to the campaign, his transfer value is surely shooting up, potentially well past that £15million mark being mentioned.

He's already scored seven goals in the Championship this season and at 22 years old, and under contract for a couple more years beyond this season, Clarke's transfer value could be pushing £20million or more.

A lot could depend on his form between now and January but there's nothing to suggest that his scoring form will let up.

At the same time though, Clarke could almost single-handedly fire Sunderland to promotion, if not a top six finish this season, so it's a very difficult one for Sunderland to evaluate.

Players like Antoine Semenyo have gone for close to £20million, and he wasn't half as prolific as Clarke, then also names like Keane Lewis-Potter for £20million, so that £20million mark seems like a baseline for the Black Cats.

And it could depend on the calibre of club who comes in for Clarke and the desperation they face; should Burnley still be struggling come January then they could throw a lot of money at signing Clarke.
