The Green Bay Packers and Sam Shields agreed to a four-year, $39 million contract that took one of the best free agent cornerbackers off the market, according to ProFootballTalk.
The 26-year-old Shields is slated to receive a total compensation of $15 million in 2014 and $21 million through his first two seasons. The contract includes a $12.5 million signing bonus, and the deal makes him one of the league's top-three cornerbacks in terms of average annual salary.
In 2013, Shields recorded 61 tackles, defended 16 passes and intercepted four passes.
