Multiple Texans Have Potential Financial Incentives to Reach in Week 18
A couple of Houston Texans could be playing for more than a simple playoff berth in Week 18, according to reporter David Mendelson. They could be playing for a boost to their wallets.
With four receptions on Sunday, Texans tight end Dalton Schultz would earn an extra $250,000, and he would gain a total of $500,000 if he finishes the game with at least six receptions, bringing his season total to 60 catches.

Running back Devin Singletary is also in this boat, and with 73 scrimmage yards, he would gain an extra $250,000 as well.
Both players could be key in the Texans' odds of reaching the postseason, however, and that is the primary focus of the team this week. A win on Sunday over the Indianapolis Colts, and Houston will reach the postseason for the first time since the 2019 season.
Not only would a win put the Texans in the playoffs, but it would give them the division title, as would a loss or tie by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Houston has a total of six AFC South titles in franchise history, the most recent of which also came in 2019.
Kickoff on Sunday between Houston and Indianapolis is set for Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. The game will be televised at 7:15 p.m. CT on ABC and ESPN.
