Preview: Can Seattle Seahawks Get Revenge vs. Los Angeles Rams After Week 1 Upset?

The Seattle Seahawks will be looking to avenge their Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams with a win inside SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks are back on the road as they are set to face their NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams, with revenge on their mind in the second of two matchups this season.

The pair last met in Week 1, as the Rams pulled a surprising upset in the season-opener. The 30-13 loss for the Seahawks was due to a historic second-half stall from the Seattle offense that failed to get on the scoreboard in the final two quarters.

Not only was the Seahawks offense shut out of the endzone, but they were held to just 12 total yards compared to the 168 they put up in the first half. Per ESPN's Brady Henderson, the 12 yards the Seahawks had in the second half "marked their lowest output in any half since at least 1991 (which is as far back as we have available data on that)."

However, much has changed for both sides since their first meeting this season. Following a promising 2-2 start, the Rams sit third in the NFC West with a 3-6 record as they have lost four of their last five games.

The Rams will welcome the Seahawks to SoFi Stadium on Sunday as they are currently riding a three-game losing streak, something they hope to break. The Rams' chances of doing exactly that have seemingly increased with the expected return of starting quarterback Matthew Stafford from the thumb injury that saw him miss the 20-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks have overcome the disappointing season-opener, by winning six of their next eight games, which has them firmly in the race for the division with the San Francisco 49ers (6-3).

The Seahawks will not only hope to avenge their Week 1 loss to the Rams but will look to make it two straight after bouncing back from their 37-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens with a 29-26 victory over the Washington Commanders.

A big key to doing that will undoubtedly be the efficient play of quarterback Geno Smith, who, after having four consecutive games with a turnover, didn't have one in the win over the Commanders.
