Ravens Defensive Backs Coach Dennard Wilson to Interview with Rams

Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson is a highly sought-after candidate for coordinator positions in the NFL, and the Los Angeles Rams have him in their sights.

Dennard Wilson, currently serving as the defensive backs coach for the Ravens, is in high demand as a candidate for coordinator roles in the NFL.

Per reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wilson is undergoing a second interview with the New York Giants for the crucial role on Brian Daboll's coaching staff. Additionally, Wilson is scheduled for interviews with the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans.

Commencing his coaching journey in 2012, Dennard Wilson started with the St. Louis Rams. Remaining with the organization through its move to Los Angeles, he steadily climbed the ranks and earned a promotion to defensive backs coach.

In 2017, Wilson moved to the New York Jets, assuming the same position while also taking on the additional title of passing game coordinator. A move back to the Rams may be favorable for Wilson considering his history with the franchise.

In his debut season with the Baltimore Ravens, Dennard Wilson played a crucial role in propelling the team to the No. 6 spot in overall defense, particularly excelling in the No. 6 position for pass defense.

Considering the struggling defensive performances of the Giants, Titans, and Rams, all ranking in the lower tiers of the league in 2023, Wilson's expertise stands out as a potential catalyst for positive change in these teams.

Despite his relatively short tenure with the Ravens, having joined them after a two-season stint with the Eagles, Wilson is one of the hottest defensive coordinator candidates across the NFL and a fast riser in the industry.

Perhaps, a return to his former franchise could be the next step in building his career.
