Giants Sign Defensive Lineman Jordan Phillips
The Giants have added yet another player who has ties to--you guessed it--Buffalo.
The New York Giants have signed veteran defensive lineman Jordan Phillips.
Phillips, 6-foot-6 and 341 pounds, played his college ball at Oklahoma. He began his pro career as a second-round 2015 draft pick with the Miami Dolphins. After four seasons in Miami, he moved to Buffalo, for whom he played during the 2018-2019 and 2022-2023 seasons, sandwiching in a stint with the Arizona Cardinals from 2021-2021.
Overall, he’s appeared in 20 games (62 starts) and has recorded 181 tackles (36 for loss), 24 sacks, 51 quarterback hits, 24 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.
Phillips suffered a season-ending wrist injury last year while with the Bills, but not before contributing to 14 games (nine starts) in which he recorded a career-high five batted passes.
Terms of the deal were not immediately available, but the addition of Phillips gives the Giants some additional depth on their otherwise thin defensive line.
