New Orleans Saints Pass Rusher Cam Jordan Picks A Fight With Atlanta Falcons And Their Fans
Just like that, the Who Dat Nation declared war on the Dirty Birds (or whatever you wish to call this version of the Atlanta Falcons) through something as huge as Cam Jordan's frame of 6-foot-4 and 287 pounds.
His mouth.
This is splendid news for the Falcons, by the way.
Well, maybe.
Jordan is the pass rushing guru with the ever-flapping tongue for the New Orleans Saints. He once said Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn't a future Pro Football Hall of Famer, and that was despite Big Ben's six trips to the Pro Bowl, two yearly NFL passing titles and couple of Super Bowl rings.
Nevertheless, Jordan told reporters through a straight face, “I would put Eli (Manning in Canton) before I would put Ben.
This is the same Jordan who fumed last season when he had a touchdown canceled after he sacked Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff, forced a fumble and ran what he thought was a turnover into the end zone.
The officials blew the play dead, and Jordan responded later by calling the referee "a foot locker."
Jordan even ripped a teammate for not ripping a teammate.
Huh? Let's just say Jordan wasn't pleased with Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport a few weeks ago for supporting Saints quarterback Drew Brees (“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but this ain’t it," Jordan said of Davenport) after Brees blasted NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem.
Here's the background for the latest Jordan Gem: The Saints just joined several other NFL teams in announcing their crowd plans at home games during this COVID-19 season that will stress the need for social distancing.
In short, the Saints will allow their fans to use only between 15,000 to 20,000 of the 74,295 seats inside the normally packed Superdome.
The Saints have one of the NFL's loudest crowds.
The Falcons?
Not so much.
Which is why the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that Jordan told those at a local charity event of reduced crowds this season at the Superdome: "It'll be like playing in Atlanta or something."
Anyway, check out today's edition of Saving The Falcons for reasons why this helps the Falcons.
Maybe.
