Eagles' A.J. Brown Reunites With LB Zach Cunningham: 'Huge Impact'

Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown spent time with Zach Cunningham on the Tennessee Titans in 2021.

If any player on the Philadelphia Eagles knows what linebacker Zach Cunningham is capable of at his best, it's receiver A.J. Brown

Brown spent most of his first three seasons with the Tennessee Titans playing against Cunningham when he was on the Houston Texans. They were briefly on the same team when Cunningham was cut by Houston in 2021 then signed with Tennessee and played with them for four games.

Now, they're teammates again.

"I’ve been knowing Zach a while even though I haven’t played with him for a while," Brown said. "Playing against him, he was always a force in Houston. When he came to the Titans, we kind of created a little bond. I’m glad he’s here. He’s going to be a huge impact for us. I’m glad. It’s a great pickup."

The Eagles signed Cunninghame to a one-year deal on Sunday. Philadelphia also added linebacker Myles Jack on a one-year deal on the same day.

Cunningham is coming off the worst year of his six-year career. He had two separate stints on the injured reserve due to an elbow injury and only appeared in six games, accumulating 24 tackles.

When Cunningham was healthy with the Texans, he was a tackling machine with over 100 tackles in three of his first four seasons. In 2020, Cunningham's final full season with Houston, he led the league with 164 tackles and also had three sacks.

If Cunningham can stay healthy and regain his form from when he was with the Texans, he could be a steal for Philadelphia. And if Cunningham is a steal for the Eagles, he can make the huge impact Brown thinks he's capable of.
