Dallas Cowboys Target J.K. Dobbins to Sign with Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs?
Dallas Cowboys Rehabbing Target J.K. Dobbins Seems In Line to Jump from the Ravens to Sign with Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs
Rumored Dallas Cowboys free agent target JK Dobbins is being pursued by the Kansas City Chiefs and could end up with the reigning Super Bowl champions, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Dobbins saw his 2023 season end practically before it began, tearing his Achilles heel in the season opener with the Ravens. Baltimore added former Tennessee running back Derrick Henry, leaving Dobbins searching for a new home.
“Free-agent RB JK Dobbins is currently in Kansas City on a visit with the Chiefs per his agency LAA Sports & Entertainment,” Schefter said on X. “The former Ravens starting running back “is expected to have a home very soon.”
If he signs with Kansas City, Dallas has one less free agent running back it could pursue. ... with a reunion with Ezekiel Elliott looming as an increasingly "viable'' possibility, a source tells CowboysSI.com.
The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard to Tennessee, leaving the running back room short of an experienced ball carrier. Prior to 2023, Dobbins rushed for 520 yards and two touchdowns on 92 carries. His best season was in 2020 when he rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns on 134 attempts.
Pollard seemed bound to be the future at running back for Dallas but injuries derailed that train.
He logged 1,005 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 252 carries. In 2023, he had 1,007 yards and nine scores on 193 attempts.
Dobbins will have a decision to make, but signs seemingly point toward him joining the Patrick Mahomes-led dynasty in the AFC West.
