Chiefs New Target Wants to Suit Up Sunday vs Chargers

Itching to be back out there.

Brandon Staley's group hit the road for their Week 7 matchup as LA takes on Kansas City at Arrowhead later this weekend.

The Chiefs boast one of the best rosters in the NFL, and their recent trade acquisition expressed an eager attitude to play despite a short turnaround.

Hardman left Kansas City to sign a one-year deal for $4 million with the New York Jets this offseason.

A diminished role in New York's receiving and return game left Hardman without much playing time, and his old team struck a deal to bring him back home.

The speedy wideout spent the first four seasons of his career with Kansas City as he won two Super Bowls and went to another as part of the team's receiver room from 2019-2022.

Georgia's former speedster also earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors in his rookie year after two all-SEC selections during his college days.

Hardman's familiarity with Andy Reid's system was a key reason why the Chiefs brought their old friend back, and he will play a big role in the team's uncharacteristically lackluster offense.

Though Kansas City lost coordinator Eric Bienemy to the Commanders this offseason, they still boast the best quarterback and tight end in the league.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce picked up where they left off last season, but the rest of the receiver room hasn't inspired much confidence.

An injury to Justin Watson, on top of other young, unproven targets, prompted the Chiefs to bring Hardman back at a low cost.

The turnaround will be swift, but Hardman thinks he can add to the Chiefs recent stretch of dominance against their AFC West foe.

Justin Herbert and the rest of LA's roster have their work cut out for them regardless of whether or not Hardman suits up on a short week.
