Chargers Rumors: LA Among Teams That Should Target This Former First-Round Pass Catcher

A change of scenery could benefit him.

The Chargers' offense hit a bump in the road during their Week 4 contest with the Raiders after a dismal second half where LA failed to score.

Justin Herbert depended on his legs to get the job done, but one writer suggested a trade target who could ignite the Bolts' offense with the firepower needed to challenge for the AFC West.

Mike Williams is done for the year, and rookie first-round pick Quentin Johnston has not done anything to inspire confidence thus far in his young NFL career. Right now, the entire Los Angeles Chargers passing attack rests on the shoulders of Justin Herbert and an older and oft-injured Keenan Allen. Considering how terrible their defense is, the Chargers need to bring in another pass-catching weapon to ensure that they can go blow-for-blow with any offense in the league. Kyle Pitts is the right man for the job, and the Chargers should consider pursuing a trade.

Falcons head coach Arthur Smith continues to misuse the talented tight end after the team spent the fourth overall pick on his services in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former Florida Gator emerged as a 1000-yard receiver in his rookie season, but in his third season, Smith has all but bypassed him in the offensive system.

While it is understandable that Atlanta wants to run the ball with talented rookie back Bijan Robinson, Pitts is simply withering away in an offense that should be much better.

Changes could be coming to the NFC South club as losers of two straight, including one overseas to the Jaguars in Week 4.

Pitts would be an instant upgrade to Gerald Everett at the tight end position, and without Mike Williams for the rest of 2023, LA could use his services behind Kellen Moore's creative system.
