Chargers News: Star WR On Ascent After Minnesota Win
After a career day on the road against the Vikings, Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen may be getting better in his age-31 season.
Racking up plenty of catches and yards in a record-breaking performance last Sunday afternoon, the former 2013 third-round pick continues to be one of the best targets in the game.
Stock up after the win: WR Keenan Allen. The receiver had 18 catches for 215 yards, setting the team record for single-game receiving yards -- and he also threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams.
Allen did a bit of everything in Week 3, consistently finding gaps in Minnesota's defense en route to his career day and tossing a beautiful ball to his teammate for the first passing touchdown of his career.
After an injury-plagued 2022 season with discussions of his release, the Bolts' veteran has thankfully stayed on the roster for 2023 in a big way.
The former Cal product now has 32 receptions on the year for 402 yards and two receiving touchdowns that came in Week 2 against the Titans.
Fantasy managers and Chargers fans have to be ecstatic with the former Bear's production through the first three weeks of the year, which is especially impressive considering his age.
LA will certainly need their veteran in the lineup even further as Williams, unfortunately, tore his ACL in the victory shortly after catching the touchdown from Allen.
Though it remains to be seen who else will step up in Williams' stead, Allen's health becomes even more critical to the team's potential playoff push.
Quarterback Justin Herbert will now be without the services of his other top target, and Allen's presence in the lineup becomes even more important to LA's ultimate goals.
