Andy Reid Talks Travis Kelce’s Play With Taylor Swift Present After Huge Game Against Chargers

Another dominant contest for him.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid led the franchise out of the basement after he got hired back in 2013.

Part of the reason for Kansas City's rise to perennial Super Bowl contention (they've won two) is their superstar tight end Travis Kelce.

Kelce missed his rookie season due to injury but since 2014, he's been the franchise's top target for both Alex Smith and the current best quarterback in the NFL — Patrick Mahomes.

Reid's praise of Kelce continued after another dominant showing against the Chargers in Week 7, when he specifically targeted the receiver's love life as a key for their win over LA. Adam Teicher of ESPN has the full quote:

The NFL continued their trend to show off Kelce's newest romantic interest Taylor Swift during the CBS broadcast this past Sunday.

As if Kelce needed any extra motivation during a heated divisional matchup, the man certainly impressed his partner with the most productive half of his storied career.

Kelce caught Swift's attention and knew there was trouble for the Chargers' zone defense when he walked into the stadium during Week 7.

Mahomes found Kelce in numerous blank spaces throughout the first 30 minutes and the tight end punctuated his nine-catch, 143-yard half with a one-yard touchdown to take the lead 24-17.

Bad blood persists between Kelce and Brandon Staley's porous zone defense and only needed the first half to leave his mark on the contests.

LA couldn't score in the second half as the Chiefs' defense swiftly took care of business to end the game even when their offense stalled out.

The loss dropped the Bolts to a 2-4 record after another winnable contest went by the wayside down the stretch.

Kelce certainly didn't need any more motivation to beat LA's poor coverage all game long but Swift's attendance clearly has his head coach and the NFL's attention alongside his great performance.
