All-Pro DT Signs Extension to Stay with Chargers Division Rival
Los Angeles Chargers division rival Kanas City Chiefs have reached an agreement with All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport was among the first to announce the signing.
Jones was holding out because he was in search of a contract extension, and now he has what he wanted.
Today, they agreed on a one-year deal, and the Chiefs now get back their best defender and possibly the best defender in the league.
Jones has spent his entire career with the Cheifs and has been named a four-time Pro Bowler, one-time All-Pro, and a two-time Super Bowl champion. The 29-year-old has been a problem for the Chargers as well as the rest of the league, recording 25 solo tackles, five assist tackles, and 8.5 sacks in 13 games against the Bolts over his seven-year career.
LA will get their first look at the Chiefs on October 22nd on the road, and unfortunately, they'll need to game plan for the dominant Jones on the other side.
