Cardinals Trade Josh Jones to Texans

The Arizona Cardinals continue their trading frenzy after moving Josh Jones to the Houston Texans.

The Arizona Cardinals have made another trade today, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

The Cardinals are sending OT Josh Jones to the Houston Texans for an unknown trade package at this time. Earlier this morning, the Cardinals sent Isaiah Simmons to the New York Giants for a 2024 seventh-round pick.

Jones has been a versatile chess piece along the offensive line for the Cardinals since joining the team in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, playing guard and tackle for the team during his tenure.

The Cardinals have seemingly settled on their starting offensive line for this upcoming season

LT - D.J. Humphries
LG - Elijah Wilkinson
C - Hjalte Froholdt
RG - Will Hernandez
RT - Paris Johnson Jr.

After Johnson was selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, there was some talks of Jones potentially being moved if he wasn't going to start.

Both him and Kelvin Beachum were relegated to second-string duties in training camp. Jones and Beachum played at both tackle spots in Arizona's first two preseason games.

Beachum - who re-signed with the team this past offseason - is potentially a lock to stay with Jones now departing the roster.

The Cardinals will conclude their preseason with Saturday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
