Look: Major Outlet Proposes Bengals Trade For Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver
Cincinnati has some question marks in that room.
CINCINNATI — Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton came up with trades for each NFL contender recently and has a boost for the Bengals wide receiver room: A fifth-round pick in exchange for Seattle wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
It could be a nice salve for the uncertain wide receiver situation surrounding Tyler Boyd's replacement and Tee Higgins's franchise tag.
"The Seattle Seahawks' new regime may view Tyler Lockett as an expendable asset with 2023 first-rounder Jaxon Smith-Njigba behind him on the depth chart," Moton wrote. "If the Bengals don't think they will retain Higgins, the club can acquire Lockett to complement Chase in the passing game. At 31 years old, the three-time All-Pro could be highly productive as the primary slot wideout. He's racked up at least 894 receiving yards in six consecutive terms. Because of Lockett's age, Cincinnati may be able to acquire him in exchange for a fifth-round pick."
It would be an interesting move, and very low risk if it only would take a fifth-round pick. "If" is the hinging word of course in this hypothetical.
