All Sixth-Round Team: From Brady to Brown, the best lineup of NFL players drafted in Round 6
Of the 254 players selected in the 2000 NFL draft, just three remain active today. Two will be on opposite sidelines Saturday night, when the Patriots and Texans face off in the NFL’s divisional round.
The Patriots famously chose Tom Brady with pick No. 199 in that 2000 draft; the Raiders earlier had used pick 142 on punter Shane Lechler, now a member of the Texans. (The third 2000 pick still active? Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski, who heard his name called 182 picks earlier than Brady, at No. 17 overall.)
Brady long has been held up as the shining example that talent can be found anywhere in the draft. But he’s not the only Round 6 find since the turn of the millennium. We present our starting lineup of the best sixth-round picks from 2000–16, starting with Brady himself. — Chris Burke
