Washington Wizards Looking for 'Complete Game' and First Win Against Memphis Grizzlies
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Washington Wizards open at home looking to wash away the pain of a season-opening loss on the road to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
In that contest, a 143-120 loss to the Pacers, the Wizards put plenty of offense on display, but not nearly enough defense.

Entering the second game of the season coach Wes Unseld Jr. told us it's going to take time for such a young group to fully gel.
"We had too many different moments in the game where there was three [or] four possessions in a row defensively [and] offensively that were just bad possessions - not Wizards basketball," guard Tyus Jones said during the pre-game shootaround ahead of tonight's Grizzlies match. "We just want to make sure that we're trying to limit those and we're trying to play a complete game."

In that first game, Pacers guards Bruce Brown and Tyrese Haliburton each scored more than 20 points in that contest while six others scored in double-digits.
Meanwhile, Washington had five players hit double-digits with forward Kyle Kuzma the only 20+ point scorer finishing with 25.
In his first action with the Wizards new guard Jordan Poole dropped 18 points in Indiana on 7-of-18 shooting missing all six of his three-point tries.
On the other side of things, Washington gave up transition points in bundles as the Pacers looked to push the tempo and pressure the team's ability to get back on defense.
As a result center Daniel Gafford got into early foul trouble and finished with just five rebounds and two blocks.
Rookie guard Bilal Coulibaly meanwhile finished with four rebounds and three blocks in his NBA debut while scoring three points and committing just one personal foul.

While the Wizards look to get in the win column for the first time this season they'll host a winless Memphis Grizzlies team that has yet to find success in two tries early this year.
In their two losses, the Grizzlies have fallen to the New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets by a combined 11 points.
One of these teams is going to get in the win column for the first time and better transition defense by Washington is step one to ensuring it's the one celebrating at the end of the night.
