Warriors Head Coach Reveals Unexpected Inspiration for Coaching
It takes a lot of extra motivation and inspiration for an NBA team to win four championships within a decade. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has had to find different types of ways to keep his team motivated, keep his playstyle up-to-date, and find different ways to win. It turns out, he's found himself some unexpected forms of inspiration for the Warriors.
On the newest episode of the Draymond Green Show, Steve Kerr revealed that he's actually drawn inspiration from legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick.
"Against every team in the playoffs you're just trying to take them out of rhythm," Kerr said. "You just want to make them, you know, we always use the Belichick line make them play left-handed. He's famous for that, trying to take a team's strengths, take that away, and make them do something different. I think that's what the playoffs are all about. You get these great players like Jokic and you have to figure out, what are we gonna possibly do with this guy? It's more, you know, you're not going to stop him, so, how can we make the team slightly uncomfortable? How can we take them out of their patterns that they're so used to?"
The Golden State Warriors may not have successfully defended their NBA Championship this season, but it's very clear that they'll be in a position to contend next season. First things first though, they need to be better on the road.
