Kings Release Two Players After Signing Former Warriors Champion

The Sacramento Kings have released two players

After signing former Golden State Warriors big man JaVale McGee, the Sacramento Kings have released both Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. As Wojnarowski reported, this will give both centers an opportunity to sign elsewhere and get more playing time. After signing McGee, the Kings solidified their center rotation, which left them with little need for Noel and Queta.

It was reported by Sam Amick of The Athletic that the Warriors were pursuing a reunion with McGee before he signed with Sacramento, so it's possible that they could look into signing one of the recently released Kings centers. If interested, it's likely that the Warriors would target Noel over Queta, given his NBA experience.

Noel last played for the Brooklyn Nets, appearing in just three games for them last season after playing 14 games with the Detroit Pistons. It has been a rough couple seasons for Noel, as the 6th overall draft pick in 2013 has not found much stability in the NBA since being traded by the New York Knicks..

While it's unclear if the Warriors would have any interest in signing Noel, this could be an intriguing pairing for both sides, as Golden State could offer Noel a chance to compete for a championship, while he could offer them some depth up front.

For now, Noel and Queta are free agents.
