Draymond Green Slams NBA GMs
It hasn't been spoken about much, but there's a clear divide between NBA players and NBA GMs. Both look at the game totally different and with conflicting ideas. If it wasn't clear before, Draymond Green made sure NBA fans knew about the difference now.
In an episode of the Podcast P with Paul George, Draymond Green absolutely blasted NBA GMs, especially, for drafting him in the second round.
"I had 21 workouts," Green said. "Most [GMs] are pretty f**king dumb...I had great workouts, absolutely great workouts. Dominated the workouts, I shot the ball well, 2-on-2, 3-on-3, 4-on-4, dominated them."
When Green was trying to figure out why exactly he fell all the way to the 35th pick in the NBA Draft, the answer he seemed to hear was because of defense - the specific thing that he's known for now.
"I had great workouts, so it's really baffling to me that I fell in the draft like that," Green said. "I fell in the draft because they said what position would I guard? They were like, he's not a three, he's not a four, he's too slow and short to be a four, he's too slow to be a three, so what position is he going to guard? I fell in the draft for that reason."
After falling so low in the draft, Draymond Green seems like he'll always have a chip on his shoulder when it comes to NBA GMs. He isn't the first player, the only player, and won't be the last player to have that mindset. The divide between players and GMs is very real.
"You always hear me talk about the basketball minds, and how smart the basketball minds are, I don't think they're very smart," Green said about GMs. "I worked out for Indiana twice."
