Anthony Edwards Makes Bold Team USA Statement

Alongside Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Anthony Edwards shared his confidence in Team USA

Led by Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Team USA is very confident in what they can do in FIBA World Cup play. Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has emerged as Team USA's go-to guy, and recently made a bold statement about his team's mindset entering their upcoming games.

"I think we're going to win," Edwards said. "We're unbeaten, also. So I think we have a great chance of winning. We have great coaches, we got great players, our confidence is at an all-time high, so we're not really worried about those guys."

Edwards was responding to a question specifically about Lithuania and Montenegro, and made it clear that Team USA is not worried about them. Still coming together as a group, Team USA has looked better with each game they've played, as every player gets more comfortable with their roles. For Edwards, he is Team USA's go-to offensive weapon, and has been approaching these games with that mindset.

While FIBA World Cup play is much different than the NBA, Edwards becoming a star in this setting is not surprising. Showing real flashes of becoming a top-tier star in the NBA, Edwards' athleticism and craftiness projected to translate well over to FIBA World Cup play, and so far it has been a seamless transition for him.

Confident in this group, Edwards is excited for what's to come.
