The Boston Celtics have signed Jayson Tatum to a Max Extension. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski Tatum has agreed to a 5-year, $195 million dollar extension with the Celtics. The 22-year-old was not a free agent but was eligible for his rookie scale extension this offseason. Tatum averaged 23.4 points per game last season and his playoff run was even better averaging 25.7 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game.

The NBA star helped the Celtics make it to the Eastern Conference Finals this past season and Boston doesn’t want their forward going anywhere. Tatum’s extension won’t kick in until the 2021-22 season.
