With roughly 30 games to go in the regular season, the Detroit Pistons are no vying for a playoff spot. However, that does not mean they plan on wasting these final 30 games. After their first game out of the All-Star break, Cade Cunningham mentioned one area he and the other guards are looking to focus on.

On Thursday night, the Pistons took the floor against Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. They'd end up dropping this matchup by a final score of 129-115. While it came in a loss, Cunningham still managed to put together a strong outing.

In 30 minutes of action, Cunningham finished with a stat line of 30 points, five rebounds, and eight assists. Along with having an efficient night shooting (61.9% FG, 44.4% 3P), he also did a good job taking care of the ball. The former No. 1 pick ended the night with just three turnovers.

After the game, Cunningham was asked about him and the other guards taking care of the ball in the second half against Indiana. He mentioned it's an area they'll be looking to focus on the close the season.

"It's a huge focus for us. For me, for the guards, making sure that we're organized and getting shots," Cunningham said. "Turnovers have killed us all year. These last 30 games, we need to take a step forward in that and finish the season strong."

As Cunningham mentioned, turnovers have been a big issue for the Pistons this season. Currently, they have the second highest turnovers per game average in the NBA at 15.5. Only the Utah Jazz (15.9) give the ball away more than them.

Based on his recent comments, it appears Cunningham and the Pistons are focused on using this final stretch of the season to start building positive momentum for the future.
