Suns Give Encouraging Update on Two Starters
The Phoenix Suns should have a clean bill of health when the New Orleans Pelicans come to town.
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns should see Grayson Allen and Jusuf Nurkic healthy when they play host to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, according to coach Frank Vogel.
Both players were listed on Phoenix's injury report this past week. Allen missed Wednesday's action vs Cleveland with hip soreness before being listed as probable and playing in Friday's win over Minnesota while Nurkic was questionable for Friday with calf soreness before being active.
Allen led the way with 23 points and eight rebounds while Nurkic notched a 11-point, 15-rebound double-double in what was their seventh win in the last nine outings.
Phoenix - now 46-31 on the year and surpassing last season's win total - own the No. 6 spot in the West.
A Sunday win over the Pelicans - who are just one game behind Phoenix - would give the Suns more cushion in the playoff race with just a few games remaining in the regular season. New Orleans lost their last matchup in 124-111 back on April 1.
Damion Lee is still expected to be out with his meniscus injury, though both teams will release their official preliminary reports later tonight.
Suns-Pelicans is set for a 3:00 PM Arizona time tip.
