Magic Schedule: March Provides Golden Opportunity for Standings Jump

The Orlando Magic play 10 of their 14 games in March at home.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic have 22 games left on their schedule, 14 of which come in the month of March.

If the Magic want to escape the Play-In drama, they will have a chance to do so with an extremely favorable March schedule.

It starts Sunday with the opportunity to complete a season series sweep against the Detroit Pistons at home, the final game in a three-game homestand.

Then, the Magic head out on the road for a quick trip to visit the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and New York Knicks. The Knicks game is the only one out of the three they may not be favored in ... but the Magic are 3-0 against New York this season and Julius Randle and OG Anunoby remain out for the Knicks.

Out of the final 10 games of the month, nine of them come at home. The only time they leave Orlando is for a quick one-game trip north of the border to face the lottery-bound Toronto Raptors.

The Brooklyn Nets, Raptors and Hornets kick off the schedule ... all winnable games. Then, the Western Conference comes to town as the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies make their annual trip to the Kia Center.

All of these games come every other night, meaning no back-to-backs and no travel in that stretch.

With the team in striking distance of the No. 4 seed, there's a world where the Magic cruise through March and head into the final stretch of games in April as the team opponents are chasing for playoff positioning.
