Lakers Legend Offers Dodgers Words of Hope Following Postseason Loss
In both basketball, baseball and hockey, one loss in a postseason doesn’t define the outcome for a team. Unlike football, each of these sports has a series where teams can bounce back from one game, and thankfully so.
Over the weekend the Los Angeles Dodgers opened their playoff run with a blowout loss at home to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a gut punch for this team, especially considering what happened to them a season ago.
But former Lakers point guard and current Dodgers part-owner Earvin “Magic” Johnson provided some optimism for the team. He reminded them about a time when his Lakers got blown out to open a series, and they still came back to win.
It was a nice reminder from Johnson, and it may have calmed some fans down a little bit. So, all the Dodgers can do is move on from this game, and focus on tying the series up before it heads to Arizona.
It was one game, and one that they’d like to forget. But this is the best of five, not the best of one. So, this series could be far from over, and the Dodgers just need to come out to play their game.
Johnson knows it won’t be easy, but he also believes in his guys. He was one of the better leaders in the sports world during his time, and it has helped make him into the successful person he still is today.
Lakers Nation stands behind the Dodgers and is rooting for them to succeed. LA sticks together, and this was just another example of that.
