Lakers News: Anthony Davis Provides Major Goal For New Season at Media Day

Davis has some lofty goals for this season!

One of the biggest problems for your Los Angeles Lakers over the last few seasons has been dealing with the injury bug. The team has seen both LeBron James and Anthony Davis go down for extended periods, and it has cost them in the standings.

But once again in the playoffs last season, we saw just what the team could do when they had both star players available. It was a sight for sore eyes, and now the Lakers enter the new season with a chip on their shoulder after the success they had.

But for Davis, he has a major goal for himself this coming season. He wants to play in all 82 games if possible and help the team in whatever way he can.

While it would be nice for Davis to play in each game this season, the reality is that it’s highly unlikely. Never in his 11-year NBA career has he achieved this feat, and never across his four Lakers seasons to date has he played more than 62 games in a single year. Even if Davis can stay healthy, the team would probably sit him out of games here and there to keep the wear and tear down.

With the new tanking rule in the NBA, it will make things harder for LA, but teams will find a way around things. If Davis can play anywhere between 65-75 games, then it will be a big success for the team, and the Lakers will likely be a top seed in the Western Conference.

The key for this team will be to keep both him and James healthy through the long season and have them ready for the playoffs. That is where the real damage can be done, and the Lakers will be ready to go.

They want to win an NBA championship again, and they have the motivation to do so after coming so close last season. It should be a fun year Laker fans, and one that could be very memorable.
