Charlotte Hornets announce special anniversary nights for 2023-24

The Charlotte Hornets announced eight special anniversary nights for the 2023-24 season, where several former players will be honored.

On Thursday, the Charlotte Hornets released the dates and details for eight team Anniversary Nights in the upcoming season. The commemoratory nights will be part of the team's 2023-24 35th anniversary season.

The eight Anniversary Nights will take place on October 25, November 18, December 2, January 26, February 10, February 29, March 15, and April 1. Four nights will include a special giveaway as well.

Two of the giveaway nights will be centered around a couple of the most decorated players in franchise history: Baron Davis and Gerald Wallace. The November 18 contest against the New York Knicks will honor Davis and the February 10 game against the Memphis Grizzlies will honor Wallace, each with a special ceremony.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance against the Knicks and Grizzlies will receive a poster of Davis and Wallace respectively. Two of the greatest in Hornets history will be on hand to share the evening with fans at Spectrum Center. There will also be giveaways against the Atlanta Hawks on opening night, as well as against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 29.

October 25 will feature an opening night T-shirt given to the first 15,000 fans in attendance. Hornets fans who come out against the Bucks on February 29 will receive a set of nesting dolls representing some of the greatest point guards in Charlotte history - LaMelo Ball, Muggsy Bogues, and Baron Davis.

For each Anniversary Night, the Hornets will don their brand new Classic Edition uniforms unveiled earlier this summer. The jerseys are designed to evoke the style of the Hornets' uniforms worn from 1997 to 2002 with the unmistakable double pinstripe motif.

Former players will be in attendance and special game presentation elements will be present during each Anniversary Night throughout the season. As the Charlotte Hornets head into the 35th season in franchise history, there will be plenty to celebrate.
