10-Year NBA Veteran Breaks Silence on Getting Traded
On February 1, Steven Adams was unexpectedly traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Houston Rockets. Now, three weeks later, Adams finally broke his silence about getting traded.
Since Adams has been out all season due to knee surgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament, so there haven't been many moments for him to speak publicly on the trade. Instead, Adams broke his silence via Instagram.
"Always a pleasure, never a chore 🤙🏽
Thank you, Memphis 🙏
Thank you, @memgrizz 🙏"
Steven Adams' presence on the Memphis Grizzlies was massive in terms of the team's ability to rebound and defend the paint. His absence single-handedly changed the trajectory of the series against the Los Angeles Lakers during last year's playoffs. However, the biggest issue with Adams is that he hasn't been able to stay healthy for the Grizzlies over the last two seasons. While it seemed like the team was ready to wait for his recovery with a full runback next season, they were more intent on saving money.
Even though the Grizzlies will be missing the frontcourt help of Steven Adams, they've developed some nice pieces during this rough season in GG Jackson and Ziaire Williams. Hopefully, they'll have all the pieces they need to make a legitimate run next season.
