The LA Clippers have been one of the most interesting teams to follow this season, but also one of the biggest rollercoasters. For the month of November, they looked like the worst team in the league, from December to mid-February, they looked like the best team in the league. Now, they've gone back to being a middling team.
A month ago, many analysts were predicting the Clippers to be an immediate Western Conference Finals contender. Now, one NBA legend is now considering them to be a first round playoff exit.
During an episode of Undspiuted, former Clippers player Paul Pierce stated that he no longer believes in the LA Clippers after their recent struggles.
"I see a team that's probably going to be a first round exit," Pierce said. "We’re at the end of the year and I’m hearing words like ‘no identity, we're soft, we don't hustle.' Like come on, this is not what you want to hear with 10 games left at the end of the season. They're just collapsing, falling a part at the wrong time. This is when you want to come together and really know who you are. I just have no faith in the Clippers at this point."
Given how poorly the Clippers have played since the All-Star break, Pierce's statement shouldn't be shocking to some. However, it's very hard to doubt a team filled with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden in the playoffs. Not to mention, the Clippers seem to be finding their groove during this most recent two-game winning streak.
The NBA Playoffs are going to be an incredibly stressful time for the LA Clippers and their fans, and it's going to be the ultimate test for the team.
