The LA Clippers had entered the past few games as fully healthy, but it looks like that wealth of health may be having some wrinkles. During pre-game warmups against the Charlotte Hornets, James Harden somehow suffered an injury.
It was revealed during the Clippers' broadcast that James Harden suffered a sprain on his right index finger during pre-game warmups. According to the broadcast, a basketball hit Harden's finger during warmups and caused the injury. Fortunately for the Clippers and James Harden, the injury was not on his shooting hand.
It's tough to say how much the injury impacted Harden during the game against the Hornets, but he did only take one shot in the entire first half against the Hornets but did have seven assists. For the first three quarters, Harden only had five points on two shot attempts in 23 minutes of play.
After tonight, the Clippers will only have eight games left to play in the regular season before the playoffs. Those games are against the: Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Houston ROckets. Hopefully, they can finish the season in a way that allows James Harden to get some much-needed rest before the playoffs. If the team can win just a couple more games, they should be safe entirely from the play-in tournament.
