Paul Pierce Discusses Workouts with Jayson Tatum, Has Bold Prediction About Celtics Star
Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce has participated in several workouts with Celtics wing Jayson Tatum this summer.
On an episode of the KG Certified podcast, Pierce talked about his experiences working out with Tatum and had a bold prediction about the Celtics star.
"So with that whole thing with me and him, I'm just here just for support, and it's getting me back in shape," Pierce said. "And it reminds me of the process that I used to go through to get ready for a season and just being there to watch him and see him do the things that’s making him great. You know, it’s an honor. ... he's already at the top of the food chain."
Tatum, 25, has played six seasons in the NBA, all as a member of the storied Celtics franchise. He averaged a career-high 30.1 points to go along with 8.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game in 74 appearances during the 2022-23 regular season (all starts).
Those numbers were good enough for Tatum to earn an All-Star nod — the fourth of his pro career — as well as a spot on the All-NBA First Team.
