76ers Rival Report: Hawks Lose Star Player to Surgery

Trae Young is set to be out for some time.

This season has proven to be quite the challenge for Quin Snyder and the Atlanta Hawks, as they've struggled to keep themselves in the playoff picture, currently sitting in the tenth spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 24-32.

It appears that the team is set for a new challenge as they are going to be without Trae Young for some time.

The Athletic's Shams Charania that Trae Young will be sidelined due to surgery to repair an injury in his left hand, which will be reevaluated in four weeks.

While the Hawks have struggled, Young has been having quite an impressive season, averaging 26 points on 42 percent shooting, along with 10 assists per game, which was enough for the 25-year-old to be named to his third All-Star team.

To this point in the season, Young has made sure to avoid the injury report as much as possible, only missing five games prior to his injury.

In games without Young, Snyder has opted to use Bogdan Bogdanovic for the most part, who is averaging 17 points on 43 percent shooting coming off the bench

If this is the case, it would appear that the Hawks' decision to hold on to their trade chips at the deadline would pay off.

Do the Sixers have any games against the Hawks?

With the Sixers having already played all of their games against the Hawks this season, there aren't any planned meetings at the moment, but this could change in the playoffs depending on how things shake out.

If the two sides are to meet, it wouldn't be the first time Young would have missed a meeting with Philadelphia this season, as he sat out of the second match, which resulted in a Sixers' win.
