Michael Phelps is in full support of the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics. Now his attention turns to the world-class athletes who must deal with the sudden change in their preparations. The 23-time gold medal winner is concerned over the mental health of these athletes as they isolate themselves as a precaution to the coronavirus. Phelps told the Associated Press, “I hope everybody is taking care of themselves mentally and physically at this time. I’m always available and open at any hour to anybody who needs help” Since his retirement in 2016, Phelps has been very candid about his bouts with depression and anxiety. He is open to being a resource to anyone who needs it. “Anything I can do to support my friends and others who want to try to accomplish their goals and dreams, I’ll do it."
