Dodgers GM Provides Major Update on Potential Clayton Kershaw Return

Is the return of the future Hall of Famer inevitable?

Los Angeles Dodgers veteran and future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw remains a free agent. Although the Dodgers have yet to sign him, the organization isn't closing the door on him.

In fact, according to Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes, the 'door is open' for a return to Los Angeles.

Kershaw is a Dodger through and through. The Dodger organization drafted him in the 2006 MLB Draft with the seventh overall pick. Kershaw made his debut in 2008 and since day one, we knew that he would be special.

He's accomplished all he could in his career in Dodger Blue, and the hope is that 2023 wasn't the last we see of him.

The 2023 season ended in a nightmare scenario for Kershaw and that is not the lasting image Dodgers fans want to see him in. Kershaw and the Dodgers are synonymous with each other, and we need Kersahw to finish with at least one more ring for the Boys in Blue.

If everything works and he's back in Dodger blue, Kershaw won't be able to pitch until at least July. The ten-time All-Star is coming off major shoulder surgery.

It was a big reason he struggled in his lone 2023 postseason start and possibly why he has yet to sign with a team.

The Dodgers will have a spot open for him whenever he's ready, and the front office won't blink twice at the opportunity to bring him back. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before they agree on a deal.
