WATCH: Braves jump out to early lead on Ronald Acuña Jr. bomb

The MVP frontrunner crushes the second pitch of the game out to left-center

What better way to try to snap a brief losing streak than by having your lead-off man crank a mighty blast to kick off the game? With the Braves losers of three straight, Ronald Acuña Jr. was ready to get down to business early tonight.

Pirates starter Mitch Keller has also been scuffling of late, and those scuffles continued when he badly missed his spot on a 1-0 fastball. A beautiful swing from the Atlanta right-fielder deposited the ball 448 feet away into the bullpen area. It's Ronald's 26th rocket of the year as he continues his push toward several historic statistical feats.

The Braves threatened later in the inning, but ultimately settled for one. Yonny Chirinos looks to defend the lead and his spot in the rotation from here.

The broadcast is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
