WATCH: Austin Riley goes oppo taco, extends Braves' lead to 6-0
The Braves have largely been cruising tonight, as an early four-run lead has swollen to five and now six runs. The sixth of those tallies came from third-baseman Austin Riley.
Guardians reliever Tim Herrin has pitched relatively well since taking over for beleaguered starter Cal Quantrill, but he missed his spot badly here, allowing Riley to extend his arms on a middle-away heater and deposit it in the seats in right. The Braves had already extended their streak of consecutive games with a homer to 23 tonight, which is now the longest such streak for any team this season. And with his 16th tater now in the books, the hope that Riley - who's underperformed from his lofty standards of the last two seasons - is gearing up for a hot streak of his own is again rekindled.
The game is in the late innings, with the Braves still ahead 6-0. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
