Former Angels Cy Young Award Finalist Pleads to Shohei Ohtani for Autographed Gift

Dan Haren wrote a letter to the Angels' superstar

Out of all the players who play in the MLB, nobody is more sought after than Shohei Ohtani. Whether it's the media or fans, everyone wants a piece of Ohtani.

Nothing is more valuable right now in the baseball memorabilia world than an Ohtani autograph. Everyone is trying to get a coveted signature from the superstar including former Angels players.

Dan Haren pitched for the Angels from 2010 until 2012. Now that Haren is enjoying retirement he is back acting like a fan trying to get an Ohtani autograph.

On Twitter, Haren revealed that he wrote a letter to Ohtani asking for a signed jersey.

As Ohtani hits free agency and is looking to garner a record-breaking contract, the value. of his memorabilia is just as high as his deal is going to be.

Haren has the right idea of asking for a jersey. On Ebay, Ohtani jerseys signed by the man himself are going for upwards of a thousand dollars.

There are some autographed baseballs going for $4,000 and baseball cards around $3,000.

When he was with the Angels, Haren was signing a lot of autographs.

In the three seasons with the team, he had a 3.52 ERA in 78 starts. In 2011 he received some Cy Young votes after starting a league-high 34 games and had a 3.17 ERA.

Hopefully, Ohtani will receive Haren's letter and grant him a jersey that will be very valuable to many people.
