Angels Postgame: Halos Drop Low Scoring Affair to Royals
The Los Angeles Angels dropped their first split-squad game to the Kansas City Royals. The final score was 1-0 between the two sides, which saw very little action.
Los Angeles could only muster up seven hits in the game, leading to a stagnant offensive attack. The only run of the game was scored on a wild pitch by right-hander Kelvin Caceres.
The Halos left ten men on base in this one, showing their inability to drive any runs in. It's a tough loss to swallow, but one that they can take some positives from.
Pitcher Carson Fulmer went two innings of work, allowing just one hit. He could end up having a nice role with the team this coming season, so it was nice to see him perform well against Kansas City.
As a team, the Angels only allowed five hits to the Royals. The coaching staff can take a solid pitching performance away from this contest, even if the offense didn't show up.
Up next for the Halos is a matchup against the San Francisco Giants tomorrow, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:05 pm PT.
