Angels News: Jo Adell Provides Update on Injury Sustained on Swinging Strikeout
The Angels injury woes are continuing as another player had to be removed from a game.
On Saturday night against the Dodgers, outfielder Jo Adell was taken out of the game after appearing to hurt his side after a strikeout.
After the game, Adell told the media what his injury was and when he wants to get back into the lineup.
Adell has been in the lineup since Mike Trout was announced to be out for 4-6 weeks with a hand injury.
In the four games he played since being called up for the second time this season, Adell only had two hits in 10 at-bats. Five of those at-bats ended in a strikeout.
Adell has been a top prospect in the Angels system for years and has been one of the best players in the minor leagues this year.
In the minors, Adell is leading Triple-A in homers with 23 and has an OPS of .956.
The 24-year-old is added to the long list of Angels players that are currently injured. That list includes Trout, Zach Neto, Brandon Drury, Ben Joyce and Matt Moore. Plus Shohei Ohtani has dealt with finger issues over the last few starts.
The Angels will have some time to recover before they hit the field again. With the All-Star break in full swing, the Angels will resume their season against the Astros on Friday.
The team is hoping that some players can come back by then.
