On Monday night, the Yankees head to Boston to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Despite the fact that both teams’ playoff hopes are dead at this point, we know that they’ll both want to win this series. The feud never ends, and both fan bases will take any bragging rights they can get. Both teams are coming off series losses and looking to bounce back here on Monday night. The Yankees and Red Sox were both victorious last night against good teams in the Brewers and Orioles which builds a bit of momentum going into this series.

We have a very tight pitching matchup here tonight, with two starters who’ve been up and down all season. This game really could go either way, but our experts believe they’ve found an edge on tonight’s contest in their MLB picks. Keep reading for our Yankees vs. Red Sox predictions with odds presented by Caesars Sportsbook.

Yankees vs. Red Sox Predictions for Monday, 9/11

When we focus on this game, we see two teams that won last night with good offense and pitching. Morale is high in these clubhouses and there’s nobody they like to beat more than each other. Per usual, let’s start off by breaking down our pitching matchup. Starting for New York is Clark Schmidt. He has a winning record of 9-8 on the year, despite his 4.54 ERA. Schmidt has some good stuff, but he’s a bit inconsistent and Boston tends to hit right handers well.

Starting on the bump for Boston is Kutter Crawford, who’s had an up and down season with a record of 6-7 and an ERA of 4.36. He’s capable of being lights out, but also getting shelled on any given night. You never truly know what kind of start you may get out of Crawford. When his command is there, he’s a very reliable starter, but he hasn’t been great as of late.

Our experts are going with the over in this game, mainly due to the pitching matchup we just discussed. We have talented hitters on both sides of this game. The Yankees have Aaron Judge sitting at 31 homers on the year, despite injuries. He would be on pace for 60 if he was healthy all year, which he is right now. Gleyber Torres has also been solid for the Yankees with his .269 average and 62 RBI. Giancarlo Stanton also homered last night in extra innings, and he’s a pull hitter who loves to hit it toward the monster.

On the other side, Boston’s offense isn’t too shabby either. They put up 12 runs on Saturday against a great Orioles team. Boston has Rafael Devers with 29 home runs to date, and he’s due for a long ball. Also, Masataka Yoshida continues to get on base with his .293 average. Justin Turner still leads the Sox with his 94 RBI and timely hitting, which has certainly been a bright spot for Boston this year.

With these offenses playing well and both facing average starting pitchers, we predict this game going over 9.5 runs. Either team could come out on top, but this feels like an 8-4 or 7-5 type of game with Schmidt and Crawford starting. Yankees vs. Red Sox MLB Picks & Best Bets

As we previously stated, we’re going with over 9.5 (-115 at Caesars) runs as our official best bet on Monday’s game. However, we have some more Yankees vs. Red Sox predictions. If you want to pick a side here, we believe the Red Sox should win this one at home on the money line. The Red Sox money line currently sits at -130, and Boston has a good recent history against New York at home.

If we had to pick a side here, we’d definitely roll with Boston. On top of that, Rafael Devers is due to hit a home run, and he's currently +360 to do so. He’s better against right handers, and he faces Schmidt tonight. If you’re looking to wager on a player to homer, Devers could be your guy.
