Bo Bichette's Injury Status Revealed Ahead of Blue-Jays Astros Game on Tuesday
After missing Monday's game because of a neck issue, Toronto Blue Jays' star Bo Bichette is back in the lineup on Tuesday for Game 2 of the series against the Houston Astros.
After sitting out of Monday's game because of a neck issue, Toronto Blue Jays' star Bo Bichette is back in the lineup for Game 2 of the series with the Houston Astros.
Per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet on social media:
Bo Bichette says he’s feeling better and back in Blue Jays’ lineup today. The left side of his neck was tight the last couple of days, limiting his ability to turn and see the pitcher. But his neck has improved and he believes he’s ready to help the team today
As frustrating as it was to see Bichette out of the lineup on Monday when the Jays got no-hit by the Astros, it's understandable why the team was so cautious with him early in the season.
One of the most impactful players in the American League, Bichette is already a two-time All-Star at the age of 26. He pairs with Vlad Guerrero Jr. to make one of the best lineup combinations in the AL.
A lifetime .299 hitter, Bichette led the American League in hits during both the 2021 and 2022 season. He's hit 20 homers or more in each of the last three seasons as well.
Toronto enters the matchup on Tuesday at 2-3 overall while the Astros are 1-4. This game features the second time through the rotation for a pair of Opening Day starters as the Jays send Jose Berrios (1-0, 3.00 ERA) to the mound. The Astros will send lefty Framber Valdez (0-0, 5.79 ERA) to the bump.
