NFL Against the Spread Predictions & Picks for Sunday Night Football
This week on Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers will get another prime-time game in Las Vegas against the Raiders. These teams are in opposite positions right now, as the Steelers are coming off a big win over Cleveland at home, while the Raiders are still digesting the 38-10 blowout loss that they suffered to Buffalo in week two. Both teams now have a record of 1-1 on the season, and this matchup is a very close one.
This is the Raiders home opener in Las Vegas, though, so there certainly won’t be a lack of energy at Allegiant Stadium. Both the Steelers and Raiders have their own unique concerns heading into this game, and it will be interesting to see what adjustments are made on both sides. Either way, we should be in for a close, hard-fought game between two teams that are hungry to pick up a win and bring their record above .500. In this article, we’ll go over our Sunday Night Football predictions against the spread and give our analysis.
We also will provide you with information regarding a $200 FanDuel Sportsbook promotion, which can earn you $200 in bonus bets to use on our Sunday Night Football picks against the spread for the Steelers vs. Raiders.

NFL Sunday Night Football Picks Against The Spread: Raiders -2.5 (-115 at FanDuel)
There are plenty of amazing games ahead of us in week three, and one of those games is definitely the Steelers vs. Raiders on Sunday Night Football. Both of these teams will look to go to 2-1 here, after up and down starts. The Steelers are coming off a big win over the Browns on Monday, in a game in which the Steelers defense was able to come up with two defensive touchdowns. These included a pick-six and a fumble recovery touchdown scored by T.J Watt.
Although the Steelers were able to squeeze out the win thanks to the injury to Nick Chubb, there’s still plenty to be concerned about when it comes to the black and yellow. Offensively, the Steelers have not looked good, and the defense luckily was able to bail them out against Deshaun Watson and the Browns. Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Matt Canada is under some heat for his questionable play calling right now, and Stephen A. Smith is calling for head coach Mike Tomlin to fire Canada.
Even famous Steelers fan Snoop Dogg chimed in about Canada’s poor performance. On top of play calling, quarterback Kenny Pickett went just 15/30 passing last week, and threw his third interception in just two games. The run game for Pittsburgh also needs to improve, as they only collected 55 yards rushing against Cleveland.
On the other side, we have a Raiders team that started off strong this season with a gutsy win over Denver on the road. They did, however, take a step backward last week against Josh Allen and the Bills, who were hungry for their first win of the year and blew the Raiders out 38-10. The Raiders simply struggled to put points on the board, and Jimmy Garoppolo threw two interceptions which is uncharacteristic of him.
The Raiders backfield also struggled a bit, only getting 55 total yards on the ground. This included Josh Jacobs -2 yards on nine carries which doesn’t look great in the box score. A bright spot for Vegas was Devante Adams who had 84 yards receiving on six receptions, and Jacobs collecting 51 yards through the air. The Raiders will likely focus on ball security in the home opener, as every possession counts for this Vegas team who hasn’t scored more than 17 points yet this season.
Our official Sunday Night Football predictions against the spread are that Las Vegas can win this game by a field goal or more, while the Steelers will struggle to move the ball downfield due to Matt Canada’s play calling and Kenny Pickett’s struggles at quarterback. With the fans fired up for the home opener, and the Raiders in a bounce-back spot, let’s roll with Las Vegas -2.5 (-115 at FanDuel) here.
Other NFL Best Bets & Predictions for SNF Including Under 43 (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook
As we stated above, we’re rolling with the home team Raiders -2.5 (-115) as our official Sunday night football pick against the spread. However, we also think we’ve found an edge on the game total. Both of these offenses have struggled to put up points in the early going, and we expect this to continue in week three.
The Raiders defense is a “bend don’t break” style of play, where they force the offense underneath. This limits big plays and also takes more time off the clock. The Steelers will likely have some long drives, which also keep this Raiders offense off the field for longer. The Under 43 (-110) is our experts' best bet for this Sunday Night Football showdown.
