Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots Week 1 Same Game Parlay
There’s no question that Same Game Parlays have become a staple of sports betting as of late due to bettors’ ability to customize their parlays and gain boosts on their odds. Bettors all across the world will be trying their luck on parlays this Sunday, so we’ve crafted a fun Eagles vs. Patriots parlay for Sunday on Tom Brady Day in Foxboro.
The Eagles visit New England in their first game back after their Super Bowl loss last season, while the Patriots hope to show off their new look offense in front of their rowdy home crowd. We believe we’ve found an edge on this game, and we’re more than happy to explain our reasoning for each of the three legs included in our +650 parlay at DraftKings.
Eagles vs. Patriots Best Bet ATS: Patriots +3.5 (-105 at DraftKings)
The New England Patriots certainly have their hands full with the Eagles coming to town on Sunday. Philadelphia was clearly the most dominant team in the NFC last season, as they fell just short in the Super Bowl. They return most of their key offensive players and look to have another dominant season.
However, they have five new starters on defense, and the Patriots will have a new look offense under offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. The Patriots also added Ezekiel Elliot, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mike Gesicki who will all likely have an immediate impact on this offense that struggled a bit last year. Our experts believe that the Eagles may still have a bit of a hangover from last season’s Super Bowl run, and Bill Belichick’s defense will be ready to go on Sunday as underdogs.
Let’s start off our Eagles vs. Patriots parlay by riding with the New England spread at +3.5. We could see the Patriots finding a way to grind out a win here in similar fashion to the Lions Thursday night against the Chiefs, but we want to be a bit safer and take the 3.5 points that Vegas will give us.
Ezekiel Elliot Player Props: Elliot to Score a Touchdown (+265 at DraftKings)
The Patriots acquisition of Elliot was an important one for New England for many reasons including his blocking abilities in the backfield, and the fact that he will help take some of the beating off of Rhamondre Stevenson. New England will most likely use Elliot in some third down short yardage situations, as well as in the red zone. He’s a strong, bruising, experienced running back who knows how to force his way into the end zone.
We don’t expect him to rack up a ton of yards in this game, but his anytime touchdown scorer odds seem very generous, considering the fact that we expect to see Elliot taking snaps whenever New England gets inside the 10-yard line. Only time will tell, but let’s assume Bill Belichick plans to use Elliot the way he’s meant to be used, which is to score touchdowns. At +265, this second leg is what really boosts our Eagles vs. Patriots Same Game Parlay.
Jalen Hurts Player Props: Over 224.5 Passing Yards (-160 at DraftKings)
Our third leg of this Eagles vs. Patriots Same Game Parlay is simple. It’s no secret that Jalen Hurts is a star in this league, and he will be for a long time. He’s one of the better dual threat quarterbacks we’ve seen to date, and this should continue again this season. In this game, however, we believe Belichick will be looking to take away the run game for the Eagles, which includes stopping Hurts from scrambling.
If the Eagles are going to win this one, we believe they’ll have to earn it through the air. 224.5 passing yards is not a very high number considering Hurts’ numbers from last season. He can easily go over 224.5 yards with the Patriots still covering the +3.5 spread in this one.
