    ACC Men's Basketball Tournament seeding scenarios for every ACC team for the final weekend of the regular season

    As we enter the final weekend of the college basketball regular season, the seeds and matchups for next week's ACC Men's Basketball Tournament are nearly set, but there are still some significant changes that can take place in the conference standings with the outcomes of Saturday's games. 

    Here are the current ACC men's basketball standings as well as what's at stake for each team's seeding scenarios on the last day of the regular season. 

    Seeding Scenarios for the 2024 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament

    1. North Carolina (24-6, 16-3 ACC)

    Final game: at Duke (6:30pm on ESPN)

    North Carolina has already clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season title, but can secure it outright and clinch the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament with a win at Duke on Saturday night. If Duke beats UNC, then the Blue Devils and Tar Heels finish tied for first at 16-4 and obviously split the head-to-head tiebreaker, which would then trigger a series of other very complicated tiebreakers concerning those two teams' records against other teams in the ACC standings, primarily Syracuse, Clemson, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest, depending on which of those teams finish higher in the standings. Of the 128 permutations of how Saturday's seven ACC games could unfold (see the spreadsheet below), 80 of them result in North Carolina getting the No. 1 seed, 46 result in Duke getting the No. 1 seed, and two would actually result in a coin toss determining the No. 1 seed. 

    2. Duke (24-6, 15-4 ACC)

    Final game: vs. North Carolina (6:30pm on ESPN)

    Duke can clinch a share of the ACC regular season title with a win over North Carolina on Saturday night and the Blue Devils could even steal the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament with some help from the other outcomes in the ACC (see the above spreadsheet). Duke can finish no worse than the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament even with a loss to UNC. 

    3. Virginia (21-9, 12-7 ACC)

    Final game: vs. Georgia Tech (8pm on ACCN)

    Virginia can clinch the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament with a win over Georgia Tech. UVA can also lock up the No. 3 seed even with a loss to the Yellow Jackets if Pittsburgh loses to NC State. The Cavaliers have clinched a double-bye in the ACC Tournament, as they can finish no worse than the No. 4 seed. Virginia will have the No. 4 seed with a loss to Georgia Tech and a win by Pittsburgh, as Clemson would get the No. 3 seed in the resulting three-way tie.

    T4. Clemson (21-9, 11-8 ACC)

    Final game: at Wake Forest (6pm on ACCN)

    Clemson can clinch the No. 3 seed with a win at Wake Forest and a Virginia loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Tigers could finish as low as the No. 5 seed if they lose to the Demon Deacons, who would then own the head-to-head tiebreaker. 

    T4. Pittsburgh (20-10, 11-8 ACC)

    Final game: vs. NC State (8pm on the CW)

    Pitt can clinch the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament with a win over NC State, a Virginia loss to Georgia Tech, and a Clemson loss at Wake Forest. Even if Virginia wins, the Panthers can still get the No. 4 seed with a win over NC State and a Clemson loss. A Pitt loss to NC State and a Wake Forest win over Clemson would result in a four-way tie between Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Clemson, and Syracuse at 11-9 and the Panthers would get the short end of that stick, getting the No. 7 seed in that scenario. 

    6. Syracuse (20-11, 11-9 ACC)

    Final game: N/A

    Syracuse, who has already finished its regular season schedule, can finish as high as the No. 5 seed or as low as the No. 7 seed in the ACC Tournament, depending on how Pittsburgh and Wake Forest fare this weekend. If one of those teams win, but the other loses, then Syracuse will be the No. 6 seed. If both Pitt and Wake suffer losses on Saturday, then Syracuse moves up to the No. 5 seed. If Pitt and Wake both win, then Syracuse will have the No. 7 seed. 

    7. Wake Forest (18-12, 10-9 ACC)

    Final game: vs. Clemson (6pm on ACCN)

    Wake Forest could move up to the No. 5 seed with a win over Clemson and a loss by Pittsburgh. The Demon Deacons could fall as low as the No. 9 seed with a loss to Clemson and depending on the results of Virginia Tech, Florida State, and NC State. 

    T8. NC State (17-13, 9-10 ACC)

    Final game: at Pittsburgh (8pm on the CW)

    NC State could finish as high as the No. 8 seed with a win over Pitt and losses by Virginia Tech and Florida State. The Wolfpack could finish as low as the No. 10 seed. NC State loses all tiebreaker scenarios with Virginia Tech, NC State, and Wake Forest. 

    T8. Virginia Tech (17-13, 9-10 ACC)

    Final game: vs. Notre Dame (2:30pm on ESPNU)

    Virginia Tech could move up to the No. 7 seed in the ACC Tournament with a win over Notre Dame, a Wake Forest loss to Clemson, and a Pitt loss to NC State. That would result in a three-way tie with the Hokies getting the No. 7 seed. Virginia Tech can finish as low as the No. 10 seed with a loss to Notre Dame and wins by Florida State and NC State. 

    T8. Florida State (15-15, 9-10 ACC)

    Final game: vs. Miami (4pm on ESPN2)

    Florida State would clinch the No. 7 seed in the ACC Tournament in the event of a four-way tie for seventh place between Florida State, Wake Forest, NC State, and Virginia Tech. FSU can also finish as low as the No. 10 seed with a loss to Miami and wins by Virginia Tech and NC State. 

    T11. Boston College (16-14, 7-12 ACC)

    Final game: at Louisville (5:30pm on the CW)

    Boston College can lock up the No. 11 seed with a win at Louisville. The Eagles own the head-to-head and group tiebreakers over Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and Miami but they can drop to the No. 13 seed with a loss at Louisville and wins by Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. 

    T11. Georgia Tech (14-16, 7-12 ACC)

    Final game: at Virginia (8pm on ACCN)

    Georgia Tech can clinch the No. 11 seed with a win at Virginia and losses by Boston College and Notre Dame. The Yellow Jackets could finish as low as the No. 13 seed with a loss at Virginia or if Boston College and Notre Dame both win on Saturday. 

    T11. Notre Dame (12-18, 7-12 ACC)

    Final game: at Virginia Tech (2:30pm on ESPNU)

    Notre Dame can clinch the No. 11 seed with a win at Virginia Tech and a loss by Boston College. The Fighting Irish could fall as low as the No. 14 seed with a loss at Virginia Tech and a win by Miami at Florida State. 

    14. Miami (15-15, 6-13 ACC)

    Final game: at Florida State (4pm on ESPN2)

    A loss locks Miami into the No. 14 seed. The Hurricanes can move up to the No. 13 seed with a win at Florida State and a loss by Notre Dame at Virginia Tech. 

    15. Louisville (8-22, 3-16 ACC)

    Final game: vs. Boston College (5:30pm on the CW)

    Louisville is locked into the No. 15 seed in the ACC Tournament regardless of Saturday's results.
