USC Football: Trojans Offer Another Elite 2026 Quarterback

Lincoln Riley offers a highly coveted sophomore quarterback out of Northern California.

Folsom (Folsom, CA) 2026 quarterback Ryder Lyons took to Twitter to announce he received a scholarship offer after a call with Lincoln Riley. Lyons is currently fielding interest from several schools out west, holding offers from Oregon, Utah, Washington, Cal, BYU, and even Notre Dame.

The sophomore quarterback stands at 6-2 about 210 pounds. He can truck and run and move well in the pocket, but it would be safer to consider Lyons a pocket passer more so than a dual threat at this point.

Ryder Lyons is the younger brother of Walker Lyons, a 2023 tight end who committed to USC but is currently serving a two-year mission in Europe.

USC currently has four commits to their 2026 recruiting class with plenty of time to add to that total. Interestingly enough, the Trojans already have a quarterback committed in their 2026 class. Carrollton (Carrollton, GA) quarterback Julian Lewis is one of the heaviest-recruited players currently in high school. He dawned the cover of Sports Illustrated back in September and has been committed to USC since August 2023.

This likely would decrease the chances of Lyons also committing to USC, per the nature of quarterback recruiting. However, the allure for quarterbacks of the chance to play under Lincoln Riley is strong. His track record there is impeccable.

Riley was actually in attendance at Lyon's most recent game, a contest that saw Lyon account for four total touchdowns in the Division 1A NorCal Championship.
